Built on decades of sheet metal cutting expertise, the Lockformer Vulcan Fiber Laser Cutting System is the next evolution in precision cutting for HVAC sheet metal fabricators. When paired with the Iowa Precision Coil Feed NEO for Plasma & Fiber Laser Cutting Systems, these two systems form a fully integrated, automated cutting work cell engineered to maximize productivity and meet the growing demands of prefabrication in the HVAC duct construction industry.
Lockformer Vulcan Fiber Laser Cutting System
The Vulcan Fiber Laser delivers cut speeds up to 1,200 inches per minute on mild steel, achieving 2.5 to 3 times the throughput of a conventional plasma cutter while producing cut quality comparable to a high-definition plasma system. Its exclusive patent-pending open architecture design eliminates the need for a pallet shuttle system, giving operators direct access to parts directly from the table. The system earned an FDA accession number and a coveted Class 1 safety rating, the highest safety standard in the industry. Because the fiber laser uses less heat than a plasma cutter, product edges are not hardened, resulting in less wear and tear on downstream machinery.

Iowa Precision Coil Feed NEO for Plasma & Fiber Laser Cutting Systems
The Iowa Precision Coil Feed NEO was designed specifically to maximize the productivity of the Lockformer Vulcan Fiber Laser or Plasma Cutting System. The Coil Feed NEO is an integrated system comprised of three core components: the Grid Feed Drop-In Uncoilers, accommodating up to twelve coil stations of 48" and 60" width coil from 16 to 26 gauge; the Automated Multi-Select and Coil Select System, which automatically de-coils and re-coils the correct gauge of coil required for each job; and the Straightening and Beading System, which then feeds the laser or plasma table. Together, these components allow manufacturers to schedule and run production by the job with multiple gauges and coil widths, with no manual intervention, for the ultimate in production precision, flexibility, and productivity.
When used together, the entire work cell is controlled by the latest generation B&R Automation Linux-based control system at the HMI of the Coil Feed NEO. This next-generation platform supports direct download from leading CAM modeling platforms including Autodesk, Trimble, PractiCAM, and Shop Data Systems, and features built-in remote diagnostics, simulation capabilities, and onboard machine insight for faster troubleshooting and reduced downtime.
