Lion Equipment Changes

Mestek Machinery is always engineering improvements into our products. No other sheet metal machinery manufacturer is more dedicated to the betterment of our equipment in the contractor’s shop, and in the field.

Please be advised of the following design changes and upgrades for new Lion equipment:

1836 Cleatfolder

  •  Added cross tubing in the frame. Strengthens the frame and accurately spaces side plates for more consistent
    assembly.
  •  Increased the thickness of the bending bar. Helps maintain a more even cleat hem.
Gear arm weldments use thicker material to reduce deflection.
  •  Lower Table Clamp Beam machining has been changed to maintain a more consistent cleat hem.
  • The mechanical cable pedal has been replaced by an air valve pedal. This eliminates several
adjustment and makes the machine much more reliable.
  •  Simplified machine covers.
  •  Additional machining is performed on the side plates to accurately locate various mounts and
    brackets.

30-CF Cleatfolder

  •  Added additional air cylinder to the bending bar. Original machines had only (1) cylinder. The twin cylinders add power and eliminate the twisting load the bending bar needs to transfer.
  • The frame has been substantially strengthened. Now uses ½” thick machined side plates with
    cross tubing
  •  Increased the thickness of the bending bar. Helps maintain a more even cleat hem.
  •  The brackets that hold the air valves for adjusting the timing have been redesigned. Air valves
mount in heavy machined brackets that are guided and mount into the frame.
  • The mechanical cable pedal has been replaced by an air valve pedal. This eliminates several
adjustments and makes the machine much more reliable.
  • Simplified machine covers.
  •  Stronger Table Clamp Beam to cylinder clevis.
