For many years, Iowa Precision has provided advanced controls for duct lines. These controls have led to productivity enhancements for their owners. Currently, we strive to support our customer base across all platforms, past and present.
As in any electronics, we face obsolescence on components. This makes it difficult to support customers and service the equipment. From time to time, we are forced to provide notice when a product becomes unable to be supported, due to the discontinue of its production.
Effective immediately, the G&L controls platform will not be quoted as an option for a control retrofit. Furthermore, aftermarket support of its components will be limited and only available on a shrinking supply basis. Under the current supply chain, we expect components will be unavailable before year end, and many are currently unavailable. We have attempted to maintain the support of the products if we can, but supply of components prohibits support with replacement products. The following machines were produced with G&L controls:
- Iowa Precision Duct-O-II
- Iowa Precision Fabriducts with G&L Controls
- Slears and Coil Processors (only with G&L Controls)
- Older Tube-a-Matics
We realize that this may cause some concern from owners of the machines listed above. We have a modern machine control upgrade available for the G&L, which can be retrofitted to your existing line. Our retrofit solution, B&R (ABB), is a PLC based solution with some of the same features of a new duct line.
