Metal Works, an HVAC duct and fittings manufacturer located in San Jose, Costa Rica, recently upgraded its duct shop and is now located in a brand new 500 square meter facility. With this facility upgrade, Metal Works is now producing a new generation of square ducts with better leak performance.
Metal Works made the decision to add a few new Mestek Machinery machines to their already existing Mestek Machinery equipment in this new facility. Metal Works purchased an Iowa Precision Pro-Fabriduct®, which is capable of producing about three full 12” x 12” TDC ducts per minute. The Pro-Fabriduct® machine is working in parallel with an existing Lockformer Vulcan® Plasma Cutting System to produce fittings. All this equipment is linked together with the Lockformer Vulcan® software for production and management control. Metal Works also acquired an ISM Machinery Gore-Max gorelocker machine for the production of round elbows. To round out the duct fabrication process, the duct shop staff also use their Iowa Precision Cornermatic Plus® for the insertion of corners on ductwork.
As if making quality ductwork wasn’t enough, this creative Costa Rican staff of duct manufacturers used their skills to make their own tool storage with the Mestek Machinery equipment too! Definitely resourceful and ingenious!
